5 Reasons to Embrace Being in More Photos with Your Children
We live in a time where everyday moments seem to fleet by faster and faster with the help of mounting digital distractions. As parents, we often find ourselves more behind the camera, capturing those moments of our children's lives then actually in the photos with them. It is so incredibly important to remember that we should also be present in those memories, creating a legacy to leave behind, not only for us, but for our children and grandchildren. Being in more photos with

I did not realize it would be so hard to find oaks with Spanish moss in central Ga. I feel like I have seen them pretty much everywhere else in Ga, BUT here! Luckily I managed to find a spot that was neither in the middle of a lake or a cemetery for this sweet couple, at a local golf course. Now, I know next to nothing about golfing, but luckily daddy-to-be did, and was able to steer us away from any danger and keep us from being a nuisance to those few who were golfing late

Bennett Family
It is honestly, crazy how fast that first year flies by! The most growing and learning is done in your child's first year! There are so many physical and developmental changes from when they are first born. They are 100% dependent on you when they enter this world, and then by their first birthday, most have begun to stand and take steps, if not already walking! They are babbling, playing and constantly learning! It is so important to capture as many moments as possible with

Rogers Family
This day had the most perfect weather! It Georgia it almost guaranteed to be hot and humid, or rainy! It actually turned out to be a pretty cool 75! This is unusual for Georgia in May! But we soaked it up, and boy was I glad for it! These kiddos kept me on my toes, being some of the sweetest I have ever met! They constantly brought me and their Momma flowers! It was so sweet and reminded me of my own kids, who bring me wild flowers all the time. I had so much fun trying to ke

Williams Motherhood Session
I took these sweet little ladies with their Momma to grab some photos of them together. I love, love, love the way this session came together with all the sweet little moments and details of Momma with her babies. They grow so fast, and our time with them is so fleeting! Its so important to document our time with them, especially when they are so little! I hope when they are grown up, and leading their own lives, this Momma can look back on these images and soak up the memory

Wilson Family
I always enjoy working with the Wilson Family! We did two shoots here, starting off in this beautiful field! When I say this momma ROCKED this red dress, I totally mean it! There is never any wind when you need it, and I wanted to add some movement to her photos so I brought along a leaf blower! Yes, you heard me, a leaf blower!! It took some tweaking, but it WORKED!! I was able to get that nice wind blown look, without any wind! And not to be out done by a machine, the wind

What a sweet little family to work with!!! And this sweet little girl, once we bonded, she lit up like the sun and was full of sweet gummy baby smiles! My favorite part of family sessions is always talking with my families and getting to know them more during their session. Dad told me that they had a wedding photo on their wall, where even though they are the subject of the photo they are not the main focus. Its a beautiful photo of them next to lake and there are just a sm

Please, Don't Book The Mini Session.
Mini sessions are great. Don't get me wrong. Get in, get out, BAM you're done. I believe there is a time and a place for them, but if you are looking to get some real moments with your family; create some connections and slow down a bit, then a mini session may not be what you want. Sure, they are cheaper, and will save a few bucks. But at the end of the day did you get to create some real connections with your family? Were you able to slow down, and spend intentional moments

Veterans State Park
Back in October we visited Veterans State Park in Cordele, Ga for the weekend. This was the official first time we took our little ones fishing. My oldest had been fishing before, but it had been about 8 years since we had been. We went often while we were stationed in Wyoming. He always enjoyed it, and has asked since leaving to get back into! So a fishin' we went! To say they enjoyed it would be an understatement! Lake Blackshear seriously had some beautiful sunsets!!

High Falls State Park
Life has kept us pretty busy lately, with lots of twists and turns. We needed a getaway. . . . after asking around we settled on High Falls State Park in Jackson, Ga. There hasn't been a lot of rain recently, so the falls were not as magnificent as they cold be, but the scenery was still beautiful and proved to be the grounding force we needed. The kids were excited to go and did pretty well, on what I thought the park employee said was a half mile hike, but was actually a 2

Olivia - Senior Session
Took this gorgeous girl for a walk out by the lake to grab a few photos to commemorate her last year in high school. I may be slightly bias, as she is my youngest sister, but she completely rocked it out. Congratulations on your senior year, we wish nothing but growth and success in your coming years into adulthood. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you! #Senior #Georgia #portraits #Children #historian

Magic of Light
It was roughly about, two years ago, when I came across Summer Murdock and completely fell in love with her art. If you do not follow her, please, do yourself a favor and go check out her website. Her use of light and shadows, always has me in complete awe!! When I realized she taught a class, I immediately put it on my goal list! Two years later, I was able to take her Magic of Light Class over at Illuminate Classes !!! I learned so much in this class and am so thankful fo

Morrin Homecoming
This sweet family waited an extra two weeks before they could be re-united thanks to a few minor maintenance issues and were the last to return from deployment! I know this sweet family was more than ready to be together again! The wait is never easy, but it is always worth it! Here are just a few of my favorite images from their homecoming! #Georgia #A10 #family #lifestyle #documentary #MoodyAFB #historian

It was certainly a first time experience for me watch these birds come home from deployment over seas. These sweet little babes were certainly excited to have their Daddy back home! Its never easy on kids to be with out a parent. Its a situation that is hard for them to grasp, but at the same time, the learn to be so strong. Thank you, Krueger family, for allowing to to be apart of such a special time in your lives!! #Georgia #family #lifes

Viveiros Homecoming
Sitting and waiting months on end for a loved one to come home can be wearing on ones soul. Its exhausting. Its stressful. Its a kind of torment I wish on no one. Its also a time where you grow as a person, as a couple, and as a family. You are pushed to your outer most limits mentally and physically. All of which makes homecoming that much more sweeter. . . . .a tangled ball of emotions that courses through your veins. So many feelings that you cannot even describe, you fe

McBride Family
I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family over the weekend! We've had so much rain lately, its been such a downer, and everything stays wet. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this beautiful spot wasn't too terribly wet after two days of rain! My favorite photos are almost always those when people are not camera aware. Not focused on the fact that I am there, shoving my camera in their faces, and completely just enjoying each others company and caught up

Snow Day in South Georgia
It is a very rare occasion that we get much of a winter here in south Georgia. Even more rare than that, is getting SNOW in south Georgia. That actually sticks to the ground and accumulates! We got two rounds. The first round was very light and instantly melted as it hit the ground. My monkeys watched from the window. I was sure just as soon as they were dressed it would be over, and I didn't want to get them excited. After a few minutes or so it stopped. About 5- 10 minute
